The newly established Revenue Appeals Tribunal is developing a Strategic Plan to guide its operations for the next five years, the Tribunal’s Deputy Chairperson His Honour, Mr Alfred Mumba has disclosed. “Since we have just become operational, there is need for the Tribunal to have a document to guide our strategic direction.
This is why we are developing this strategic plan for our first five years of existence,” His Honour Mr Mumba says Government established the Tribunal with a mandate to hear and determine appeals against objection decisions made by the Commissioner General of the Malawi Revenue Authority.

“Being a new office means that we have a huge task to communicate our services and ensure that our taxpayers, stakeholders and the public know how they can access our services,” the Registrar of the Revenue Appeals Tribunal His Honour Mr Timothy Chirwa has said.
The Registrar says positive engagement with various stakeholders and the general public will be key to make the Tribunal services accessible. He says the Tribunal has since developed a Communication Strategy and Plan to guide internal and external communication processes.
The Tribunal is mandated to hear and determine appeals against objection decisions made by the Commissioner General of the Malawi Revenue Authority.
